Emily Innes

Community Innovation Worker, Wesley Rātā Village

Emily’s role is to build relationships within Wesley Rātā Village, as well as with the wider Naenae community and with partner organisations. Her role includes co-ordinating a community-led arts programme at Kererū House and connecting activities such as the Koha Café.

A Naenae local, Emily has deep networks in the local community and is an active community advocate. She’s been instrumental in ensuring community voice is heard in the redevelopment of the Naenae town centre.

Her superpower is her ability to build strong, empathetic relationships. She’s also a film maker and enjoys creative writing. She is currently completing the Community-Led Development Micro Credential with Inspiring Communities.

Emily’s passion: “I’m passionate about the heritage and history of Naenae. I'm also passionate about the power of arts and creativity to bring healing, and improve wellness and quality of life for people of all ages.”
