Rowena (Ro) supports a network of volunteer facilitators around the country who work with whānau and tamariki impacted by meth use. She also runs the local Porirua P-Pull initiative which provides weekly walk-ins and other supports to local whānau impacted by meth.
A Porirua local resident for 37 years, Ro came to this work through the experiences of her own whānau. She brings a practical, open-minded, evidence-based approach to building the network and empowering whanāu to take the lead in their journey to recovery.
Ro is now widely acknowledged as a national expert on the impact of meth on whānau, advising on local response models and national research projects.
Ro’s passion: “Motivated by my own whānau, my passion is to support and guide whānau to make change for the betterment of future generations.”
